Students will be taught the basic family tree of the Greek gods, with particular emphasis on the Olympians and how they relate to one another. We'll talk about: • What exactly was Greek Mythology? Were the myths believed like a religion? • What is the overall story of the gods and how they came to be? • Of the gods, who is related to whom? • What did each god control? • How did they interact with each other? Class will consist of instruction from the teacher through a slide show and verbal explanations. We will then have a discussion and Q&A to dive deeper into the content if desired. Students will also receive a printable file of the Greek God Family Tree, to better illustrate the material and give the students an interesting keepsake from the class.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Everything will be approached at an age-appropriate level. We will be talking about the Greek Gods and their dealings with one another, which, in the context of the myths themselves, could be violent. However, we are not focusing on the super violent aspects, and, where necessary, they will be explained in a way that is age-appropriate, but doesn't sacrifice accuracy. Overall, things will stay at a PG-level.
Supply List
A one-page handout will be given to learners to print out. Everything else will be onscreen.
1 file available upon enrollment
