Class Experience

In this one-time class, learners will begin to gain an understanding of telling time! We will do this through visuals, a guided worksheet, and discussion.

Our class will begin with sharing good news, my favorite way to start every class. I will use this conversation to teach learners the difference between a.m. and p.m. We will talk about different parts of the day (morning, afternoon, evening). Our lesson will then go into time and learners sharing what they know about clocks. Learners will be encouraged to share ideas as much as they feel comfortable. Welcoming learners into discussion and hearing from one another is an important part of my class.

Learners will use a worksheet as we begin to identify times to the hour. We will learn about the parts of a clock and how that helps us tell time! Prior knowledge of reading and identifying numbers 1-12 will help learners be successful in this lesson.

Learning Goals

Our class will be focused around Common Core Standard for Data and Measurement CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.MD.C.7 (Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m).

Hello! I am an elementary education teacher with 12 years of experience in the classroom! I am excited to bring a great curriculum of reading and math to your child. I teach phonics, reading fluency and comprehension, and math numeracy and algebraic concepts. Most importantly, I help students get excited to learn and begin to realize their limitless potential!

I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Penn State University and my Masters in Elementary Eduction from Millersville. Since then, I have loved teaching young learners! I also have a minor in Hearing and Deafness Studies, which I incorporate into my lessons through the use of American Sign Language.
I believe all students can grow and become confident learners! I believe in creating content rich lessons using common core standards, all while making it fun! This all is made possible through a positive classroom environment.

I am a teacher, but I'm also mom to two little girls. Since becoming a mom, I am even more passionate about my role as an educator. I know the heart moms have to see their children succeed! I see the value in providing great teaching to young children. My passion for teaching is now even stronger!
