Cambridge Minimus Secundus - Part 1
In this 10-week course learners will continue to be gently introduced to the Latin language and the culture of the ancient Romans.

1-2 hours per week. There will be worksheets for students to complete at home for practice. These exercises are designed to help reinforce what students have learned in class and/or prepare them for live class.Class Experience
The aim of this Latin course is to give young Learners a taste of the Latin language by learning about the culture that spoke Latin, the Romans, and learning Latin roots. Learners will read Latin comics out-loud, with vocabulary help, to practice their Latin pronunciation and then translate the short sentences. Each chapter focuses on one beginner's Latin grammar point, which will slowly be built upon with each subsequent chapter. Learners will practice memorizing 10-15 new Latin vocabulary words per chapter. Since this course is meant to be a slow and FUN way to learn about the Latin language, one chapter will be covered over a period of two weeks. Some projects and worksheets will be assigned, but learners will be given at least one week notice before the due date. For some activities the worksheet will need to be printed before class. PREREQUISITE: Students must have completed Minimus Book 1 before enrolling in this course or an equivalent. Feel free to message me with any questions. MATERIALS: This class will use Google docs and Nearpod.com to manage assignments. It will also use "Nearpod" for live classes which encourages student engagement and interaction. This will require students to "join" each live class through a Nearpod code so that they can interact with the slides by answering questions, filling in the blanks and drawing. Parental Guidance
This class requires the use of Nearpod.com. A code will be given for each live class for Learners to use when logging in. No outside resources will require a login/username or password to access materials.

The text for this class is "Minimus Secundus: Moving on in Latin" by Barbara Bell, published by Cambridge University Press. Each Learner will need a copy of the book. This book can be purchased on Amazon for about $35.
