Class Experience

In this one time class, students will learn the basic skills of telling time to the hour. This beginner class is for ages 5-7. We will discuss the parts of the clock. We will discuss increments of time (seconds, minutes and hours). Learners will discuss tasks that can be completed in different increments of time. Students will learn how to tell time to the hour. Students will be able to view the lesson slides as well as my personal teaching clock. I believe that having hands on teaching props helps to engage students on a deeper level. Students will print their "What Time Is It?" worksheet and bring it to class, and we will complete it together.
I will interact with students throughout the class and take voluntary answers. I will not call on students who do not have their hand raised. I encourage all students to participate, but I also know that some students are shy and I do not ever want to put a child on the spot. Students do not need to have prior knowledge of telling time for this class. This is a beginner course and we will cover the basics of telling time to the hour in this lesson.

Welcome Parents and Guardians,

My name is Ashley Compagnoni. I am a mom of 2 and I love teaching! I am a teacher and I also have a B.A. in psychology. I have taught ages 4-12 but my heart is with the littles! I absolutely love teaching preschool - 2nd grade curriculum. I teach a variety of subjects from ABC’s, phonics, and reading to math, telling time and other subjects as well. In the future, I plan to create some fun courses to help our little ones deal with big emotions!

It is my priority to cultivate a safe and fun learning environment for my students. I believe that students learn best when they are in a safe learning environment that interests and engages them. I work hard to ensure my lessons are fun, engaging and interactive! With so much of our children’s education taking place online during this time, I feel it is so important to create fun lessons to help them learn. I try my best to engage with each student equally. However, I do know that some students are extremely shy. If I feel that your student is shy or they are not comfortable with answering questions I will adjust my level of engagement. I do not ever want to put a student on the spot or make them feel uncomfortable.

I do offer private lessons for ages 4-8. I love a full classroom, but I also love to work with students one on one as well. If you are interested in a private lesson or tutoring for your child, please message me and we can set up a learning plan for your child.

I look forward to seeing your child in class!

Class Policies:
1. My classes will generally have about 4-5 spots available. However, in the event that those spots do not get booked, I will still hold class for one student. If there is only one student signed up for my class, I will email parents before class just to make sure he/she is still comfortable taking that class. If they are not comfortable I can transfer the student to a class with higher enrollment.

2. I will admit students to the classroom right at the scheduled time, even if not every student is present. If there is a technical issue and I cannot enter the classroom, I will contact parents through the classroom page.

3. I will always finish class as close to the scheduled time as I can. Sometimes if we have low enrollment numbers or if students need extra help, class could finish a few minutes early or late depending on the circumstances.

4. If no students are present in the classroom when class is scheduled to begin, I will wait 10 minutes before exiting. Once I exit the classroom, the class will be finished.

5. I do offer a 20% sibling discount. In order to receive this discount, siblings must be enrolled in the same class at the same time. Simply sign up your children for class as usual, and I will process a 20% refund on their enrollment after class is finished. You will receive a refund email to show the refund has been processed!
