Beginner - Advanced Level
Learn to paint an amazing Starry Night painting inspired by Van Gogh! No experience necessary! This class meets two times in one week to create this masterpiece. Students will work with acrylic on canvas and will layer onto their paintings each day during the camp. They will learn skills like sketching out their paintings, colour mixing, learning to paint thick brushstrokes like Van Gogh, and more. They will also learn some fun facts about the artist and his life! Ms. Emily will guide students step-by-step throughout the class and will show a close-up view of her hands while she demonstrates each step. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and share their artwork with the other artists in the class. It will be a warm and welcoming environment that will be a good mix of learning and fun! Here is what students will work on each day: Day 1: Sketch out and paint the background. Day 2: Paint the moon and stars, add all the finishing touches. Hope to see you there!

Supply List: -acrylic paint (a variety of colours including white, blue, red, yellow, green, brown, and black) -mixing palette -canvas or thick paper (approximately 9” x 12”) -medium-sized paintbrush and a small detail brush -water jar -tissues/rag/paper towel -pencil -eraser -scrap paper
