🔍 Story Detectives: A Reading Comprehension Adventure! 📖 What will be taught? In Story Detectives, young readers will develop key comprehension skills by analyzing stories, identifying main ideas, making predictions, understanding characters, and drawing conclusions. Through engaging discussions, fun challenges, and detective-style reading missions, learners will strengthen their ability to think critically about texts. What topics will we cover? Finding clues in a story to understand the main idea Making predictions about what happens next Learning about characters, settings, and story events Exploring cause and effect relationships in stories Strengthening vocabulary and critical thinking skills How is the class structured? Each class follows a detective-themed format: 1️⃣ Warm-Up Mission – A quick reading-related riddle, game, or question 2️⃣ Case of the Day – Reading a short story or passage together 3️⃣ Detective Investigation – Interactive discussion with comprehension questions 4️⃣ Clue Hunt – Hands-on activities like drawing, sorting, or acting out parts of the story 5️⃣ Mission Complete! – A fun recap and mini challenge for next time How will I teach? I use an interactive, play-based approach that makes reading fun and engaging! Kids will participate in detective-style activities, storytelling, and group discussions that bring stories to life.
