At the end of the month, we will dedicate time for children to read their books out loud to their peers.Class Experience
The purpose of the lesson plan I design here is to follow a month-to-month theme. This is a continuation of beginner mandarin classes. We will be exploring new vocabularies and continue to build on vocabulary. About half of the time is in English and half in Mandarin. Note: there is not a lot of Chinese writing, it is mostly vocabulary building and reading simple sentences How do you know if this is the right class for your child? -bilingual setting -for this class, your child knows numbers, colors, some basic sentences like my name is, my age is, my favorite color is, and being comfortable in repeating words or sentences and is dependent on doing arts and crafts by themselves. You can refer to my beginner class to see if your child has already gone over the topics. thank you we will first start with pinyin learning which might last 3 month week 1: clothing week 2: create family members week 3: project house week 3: furniture A booklet at the end of the month for review. I will be providing flashcards for print-out and projects for each month.

Teacher expertise and credentials
California Teaching Certificate
I am a native Chinese, certified teacher, studied English as my second language. I specialize in teaching students who are beginning to learn mandarin. I have 10 years of teaching experience. 8 years in the school setting and 2 years in an online setting. I have a BA in Child and Adolescent Development with a minor in Music as well as a Montessori credential.
My values or philosophy behind my teaching: my focus is on the “whole child,” which means that my lesson plans will focus on stimulating the child physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally. As an educator, my lessons will have many interesting subjects that will keep the children engaged. I prefer the use of guidebooks, hands-on tools, and activities to help me teach Mandarin/English in a fun and productive way.
Passion: my passion has always been learning. In my spare time, I love playing the guitar, collecting children’s books, and making use of the time to learn, plan lessons, and take classes. I think learning is exciting and I want to make learning fun for the children as well.
