This is a one-on-one opportunity to be introduced to, or practise, introductory Mandarin Chinese.
Class experience
This one-on-one tutoring class will allow young people to be introduced to the Mandarin Chinese language, become familiar with its sounds, better understand the writing system, and/or learn the basic structures of a sentence. This one-on-one learning opportunity targets learners who are new to the language or who have some initial background. This class is not meant for intermediate or advanced learners of the language. Ms. Shiren began studying Chinese in high school, later minoring in this subject at university. Her understanding of language learning will assist learners when they encounter areas of difficulty, and she is well-positioned to understand the difficulties a native-English speaker might encounter with the language.
Students will need a pencil and eraser, preferably a mechanical pencil with eraser, if they would like to practise writing.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
