The English language has many different spelling rules! My goal is to help your child become a more fluent reader and a confident speller by mastering spelling rules. Spelling rules for the weeks will follow as: May 4th : Floss Rule (Ex: Boss) May 11th : Ng-Nk (Ex: King/Sink) May 18th : Silent E ( Ex: Cake) May 25 : Ending y,i (Ex:sky) June 1st: Vowel teams ai/ay (Ex:sail/clay) June 8th : : Vowel teams ee/ ea (Ex: beach/sheep ) June 15th : Vowel teams oa/ow (Ex: road/crow) June 22 : Vowel teams ie/ igh (Ex:light/ pie) June 29th : Vowel teams ie/ igh (Ex:light/ pie) July 6th : sounds of -ed (Ex:bumped/ spelled/hunted) July 13th : ar (Ex:shark) July 20th : uly:or (Ex:cork) July 27th : ir/er/ur (Ex:verb/ curl/fur) More lessons will be uploaded in July Lessons will follow as: Welcome Introducing the spelling rule Write down the spelling rule (Student will need to bring a notebook and color pens or anything that colors to class) read words with the spelling rule of the day. Sorting words with spelling rule There will be a 10 min buffer in case some students need additional support in spelling. I will use a multi- sensory approve in my lessons. Students will be able to have a hands-on experience as they learn spelling rules.

My name is Mrs. Judith I have a B.A in Psychology and a teaching license in Special Education. I have taught in a dual language school and I am hoping to incorporate a dual language approach in my classes. I am passionate about providing academic support and ensuring no child gets left behind. I am a big advocate for inclusivity, your child will feel loved and welcome in my classes.
As a special education teacher I have learned to target instruction to my student needs. Therefore my classes will be focused on filling gaps in your child's education. I am a big believer in multi-sensory learning.
On my teaching page you will find classes that target the science of reading that include early reading instruction such as phonemic awareness (manipulating individual sounds) , phonological awareness (recognize spoken language ).
I will also teach math, social skills, and teach spanish.
