My goal is to teach your child how to become a confident reader and grow their love for reading. Reading is a skill that is needed in ever aspects of life. In this 1:1 tutoring sessions I will begin with assessing your child the first two classes to determine where you child needs additional support. These assessments will help me determine what gaps your child has in reading. After the assessments are done I will provide targeted instruction. You child might fall in the following lessons: Phonological and phonemic awareness Letter names Letter sounds Cvc Cvce Beginning blends Ending blends R controlled Each class will follow as such: Introduce the letter or spelling rule Read words with the topic we are covering Spell words Read a decidable book Answer comprehension questions And end the class with a fun break Please reach out with additional questions! Hello Beautiful Souls!
My name is Mrs. Judith I have a B.A in Psychology and a teaching license in Special Education. I have taught in a dual language school and I am hoping to incorporate a dual language approach in my classes. I am passionate about providing academic support and ensuring no child gets left behind. I am a big advocate for inclusivity, your child will feel loved and welcome in my classes.
As a special education teacher I have learned to target instruction to my student needs. Therefore my classes will be focused on filling gaps in your child's education. I am a big believer in multi-sensory learning.
On my teaching page you will find classes that target the science of reading that include early reading instruction such as phonemic awareness (manipulating individual sounds) , phonological awareness (recognize spoken language ).
I will also teach math, social skills, and teach spanish.
