Description

Class Experience

Students will learn beginning spatial reasoning skills involving flips, turns and slides of puzzle pieces.
These skills are foundational skills for design and engineering.
As a teacher with more than twenty-five years experience, I have taught students to engage in active learning. Students love this puzzle challenge.
If time runs out during our class together, students may wish to complete the challenge of recreating the rest of the cell patterns on their own.
 2 files available upon enrollment
Puzzle Pieces printed and cut apart prior to class - If possible printed on cardstock (File Available Upon Enrollment)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be informally assessed based on participation and completion of at least five cell pattern puzzles.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Before class, please be sure to print the Cell Pattern page and the puzzle pieces. If possible, print the puzzle on card stock. Also, carefully and precisely cut apart the puzzle pieces into the sixteen individual pieces. You may want to put these puzzle pieces in a baggie for storage. ***Students must have puzzle pieces ready to participate in this class. ***
