In this class students will learn how to create a “shape monster” craft out of materials from home and learn a song to help them identify shapes. A pdf template with shapes will be provided to the students to print off before class. During class I will teach the students the shape monster song, while we play the game electronically together and at the end of the class have time to create our own shape monster to use at home!
Learning Goals
Students will learn their how to identify the following shapes in class: circle, triangle, square, rectangle, oval, diamond, hexagon and trapezoid. The song and craft used during this class session will help students with identifying and recognizing shapes.

Supply List
Materials needed: Students will be provided a shapes and song templates to print off before class. They will be asked to color in and cut out the shapes on their own time. Students will need either a bag or box from home to create a shape monster. Adult assistance may be needed to cut out mouth out for the shape monster on either the bag or box!
