US Grade 5
Welcome to 5th grade Earth Science Short Course! You will learn about plate tectonics and how they affect our world. We will also learn about volcanoes and earthquakes and where all of Earth's water is stored. After these lessons, we will turn our eye to the sky and learn about the layers of the atmosphere, weather, and climate. My teaching style is to ask engaging questions to begin and drive our class discussions. I may use visual graphics such as slide shows and video clips. The course syllabus outlines the topics for each class meeting, and a pdf of supplies will be uploaded to the classroom. ***All learners must be enrolled to be fair to the other enrolled learners.***
Learning Goals
5-ESS2-1. Develop a model using an example to describe ways the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and/or atmosphere interact.5-ESS2-2. Describe and graph the amounts of salt water and fresh water in various reservoirs to provide evidence about the distribution of water on Earth.
