Strong reading comprehension skills are essential for success in school and beyond. This engaging class is designed for students who need help catching up, staying on track, or advancing their reading abilities. With a focus on small-group instruction, this class provides a supportive and cost-effective alternative to one-on-one tutoring. Each session begins with a targeted reading comprehension strategy that students will apply while reading together. Students will take turns reading, answer questions, and engage in conversations that reinforce key skills. Students will practice fluency, vocabulary expansion, and comprehension strategies such as: Identifying main ideas & key details Making inferences & predictions Evaluating characters & themes Analyzing text structure & purpose Assignments are provided for extra practice. This class is students in the 3rd & 4th-grade students who need extra support or want to strengthen their reading skills; Readers who benefit from structured small-group learning; Students who enjoy engaging, interactive reading experiences This is an ongoing class, allowing students to join or leave as needed. Reading selections come from Scholastic Storyworks, ensuring high-interest fiction and nonfiction texts that keep students engaged. Help your child build confidence and master essential reading skills!
