Class Experience

Eye contact in public speaking. This course will explore the importance of looking at your audience as you speak. This is good for beginners as well as more accomplished and comfortable speakers. Our goal will be to improve communication skills in this key area. I will have students speak to the class making eye contact. Each student will be evaluated and they will have a chance to interact with other students as well as with me. Students will have a document in their hands about eye contact.

(other one time classes will focus on inflection, gesture and voice projection)

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been involved in public speaking all my life. The first speech I remember making was as a 5 yr old at the YMCA! My certification to teach in Florida was in Public Speaking (I let it expire as I was not in the classroom at the time). At an university in Zambia I have taught public speaking. Additionally, many years of my life have been lived as a pastor communicating to students and adults on a weekly basis. In short, teaching people how to communicate in public settings more effectively is a passion of mine.
