Public Speaking for Confidence-Building-Practice Makes Perfect.

Class Experience:

This is an on-going, small-group class. We shall work together for learners to improve their presentation skills. I encourage children to write/present their own speeches, share their point of view, even if it is a short speech. They will learn to make an impactful beginning and an impressive ending. I send a one page handout, in advance.

Public Speaking is an important part of communication. In each session, I discuss the importance of presenting in front of an audience. I pay individual attention to each child.
Each meeting, the focus is on one type of speech, while discussing overall improvement. Each week, we also learn one new word pertaining to the speeches, to get better at vocabulary.

Each student presents 2 speeches/topics, each day. Learners are encouraged to reflect and understand their strengths and areas of improvement. Individual feedback and discussion follow.
This is a 28 days' series and we shall loop back when all types of speeches are done, and start over.

Class duration - 60 minutes. I may go beyond by 5-10 minutes, if I feel the class needs extra support. Please let me know if your child needs to leave on time.

I will accommodate transfer requests if made 24 hours in advance; last minute transfer requests may not be honored for various reasons.

I shall accommodate transfer requests once in 8 weeks, as long as I am notified 24 hours in advance.
If I, as a teacher, have a scheduling conflict, I shall either contact you to reschedule for a different time or issue a refund.

I share class recording on request; however, if there is an unverified learner who has not attended class, I will not share that class recording. I take my class safety very seriously, so does Outschool.

Introduction - 5 minutes
Topic Introduction and Explanation - 10 minutes
Each Participant Practice session  on 2 topics and feedback - 30-35 mins (5 participants)
Positive reinforcement of a student's strengths, areas of improvement &
Learning and takeaway - 15 minutes.

Class Rule :This is an interactive class; hence, children are expected to keep their cameras turned on, at all times, during the class.
In this class, it is important for us to be seated on a chair or standing when facing the screen.
Learners will stand and deliver their speeches.
If your child needs any special accommodation, or alternate seating arrangement, please let me know in advance, so that I can accommodate them and they can get the most benefit from the class.

If you do not find an available section at your convenient time and date, please let me know or check again later. I add classes every week and you will find one that suits you. Please check that you are signing up for the correct local  date and time.

Refund / Transfer policy:

As per Outschool policy, there will be no refund/rescheduling for missed classes. I will be happy to transfer/ reschedule the student if intimated at least 24 hours in advance, as I might not be able to fill the vacant spot on a shorter notice. This would translate to one student claiming 2 spots.
