Homework
1-2 hours per week. We will discuss expectations in terms of homework towards the end of each lesson. Some projects we will make may require more than one class to complete. For others, we will begin making the project in class, and the learner can finish after class in their own time. The first few minutes of the next lesson will be used to share progress on the previous week's project. Each crochet project in this class typically takes between 1-4 hours to complete.Assessment
I will be watching your learner throughout the class. I will offer assistance, positive encouragement, and helpful feedback as they work on their crochet projects. If they have particular questions about their projects outside of class time, they can send me a message.Class Experience

Beginner Level
Does your learner want to learn to crochet and express their creativity in a new way? Join me for these fun and engaging one on one lessons, where beginner crocheters will learn the basic crochet stitches. Learners will be introduced to the chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and double crochet stitches. As we progress in our lessons together, we will start combining these beginner-level stitches to make more complex patterns. I have been crocheting for over 30 years! My mother taught me how to crochet when I was 8 years old, and I've never stopped. Crocheting is a wonderful way to release stress and anxiety, while being creative at the same time. 👉🏼This private lesson is perfect for the learner who is learning to crochet, and wants focused instruction tailor made to meet their needs. 👉🏼I will meet your learner where they are on their crochet journey, and we will work together to build their skills and confidence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CLASS BREAKDOWN: Each lesson will follow this format: ⭐️ Introductions + get to know you activity (5 minutes) ⭐️ Show and tell of previous class projects if we have had lessons together before OR a discussion of previous crochet experience if we are meeting for the first time (5 minutes) ⭐️ Lesson on required stitches for this week's project (10 minutes) ⭐️ Introduction of current crochet project, demonstration of the pattern. (5-10 minutes) ⭐️ Learners will practice the stitches learned in the class while making their creation for the duration of the class time. 🚨Do note, this class will ONLY cover your choice of the topics listed below! Please DON'T ask for other projects. This list will change and be updated over time. CLASS CONTENT: I believe that the best way to learn to crochet is to practice your stitches by making different crocheted creations. In this class, learners will choose from this list of projects ONLY. These crochet projects are listed in order of difficulty, from easiest to more challenging. ⭐️ Basic foundation stitches (chain, single crochet)* ⭐️ Scarf (chain, single crochet) ⭐️ Dishcloth (chain, single crochet) ⭐️ Hair scrunchie (chain, single crochet) ⭐️ Bag (chain, double crochet) ⭐️ Moss stitch dishcloth (chain, single crochet alternating) ⭐️ Coaster (magic ring, single crochet, stitch increases) ⭐️ Coaster 2 (magic ring, double crochet, stitch increases) * If your learner is brand new to crocheting, I recommend starting with the basic foundation stitches to provide a strong start to their crochet journey. 🔴PLEASE NOTE 🔴 ❗️It will be up to the parent to communicate ahead of time what crochet project your learner is interested in, and if your learner has some background knowledge in crochet! A message will be sent to you after enrolment with some questions to help me prepare materials and tailor the lesson to meet your learner's needs. ⭐️ RESCHEDULING AND REFUNDS ⭐️ I follow Outschool's policy regarding refunds, cancellations, and reschedules. 1️⃣ Families receive a refund for the meeting(s) they cancel within 24 hours of auto-renewal.
