Poetry Teatime: A Club for Poetry Lovers
Join us weekly for a poetry reading and writing appreciation club. Learners will be introduced to one new poem each week to discuss and explore. They'll also have the opportunity to write and share poems of their own.

Whether you are a budding writer, a poetry lover, a reluctant writer or reader looking to expand your horizons, or anything in between - this club is perfect for you! Each week we will discuss one poem together and learn a little bit more about the poet, poem, or theme / time period of the work. Students will also have the opportunity to write and / or share their own poems in the Outschool classroom. Topics include: -sonnets -haiku -limericks -acrostic poetry -nature poetry -poets from different regions -And more! We will discuss different forms of poetry, poetic structure, rhyme schemes, themes, the lives of poets, and more. Supply List
No specific supplies are needed, but if you would like to write some poems of your own you will need paper and a writing utensil or a computer. I'll share our poem of the week in the Outschool classroom.

I have a Bachelors Degree in English: Writing and Communications and have taught courses on poetry to my daughter during 6-8th grade when we were homeschooling. I am a long time poetry lover and have written several poems of my own over the years.
