Show us your weird, wild, and wonderful friends! Whether you have a dog or salamander or chicken or fish, I want to meet them! In this class, it's your pet's time to shine! Each student will have time to tell about their pet--whatever they want! We will share with each other our pets' names, stories about them, and some facts about why your buddy is so special! This class has an affirming environment where students can confidently present to other students. At the beginning of class, we'll set some guidelines for how we can be good and active listeners by not talking over someone else, asking relevant questions, and showing interest. Students will be given equal opportunity to share about their pet(s). I recommend that students come prepared with stories or facts they would like to share about their pets, but we can also interview your student about the pet if not! There will also be a special appearance by at least one of my pets! I have a sleepy greyhound, a sassy three-legged lab/corgi, and two red-eared sliders. Please note: This class relies on having a working camera for each student. We want to see your critter! Shy students are welcome to turn the camera off when they are not sharing, but should come prepared to speak in front of the class. You can do it! If you do not have a pet, you are still welcome to sign up for the class, but please message me first to ensure that we have other students who will have pets to share.
Learning Goals
Students will primarily gain practice sharing and communicating information about their pets. Students will practice active listening skills by engaging with other students. Students will be exposed to other kinds of pets and learn about what it's like to have them as a pet. Please note, I cannot guarantee any specific pets will be shown other than my own.Other Details
