Being able to form an opinion or argument from a text is a vital skill but to be truly effective, students need to be able to support their point with evidence and link the two together with an explanation. Being able to PEE gives a student a framework to build an argument, essential in essay style questions, reviews or persuasive writing. In this one time class, learners will explore the elements of point, evidence and explain, and understand the function and importance of each. Students...
Students will be able to form an opinion based on a text, scan for relevant support and be able to identify quotes to back up an opinion or argument. Students will be able to explain how the evidence selected supports or proves their point.
Writing is my passion and as well as majoring in English at university, I've almost 20 years experience in teaching English in primary schools (4-11-year-olds) and also as a Home Educator. Over those years I have regularly worked with groups of children specifically on English writing skills.
