Class experience

US Grade 4 - 6
Students will build an understanding of:
identifying author purpose
characteristics of persuasive, informative and entertaining writing
using their skills to begin to develop discernment in what they read
using the characteristics of each purpose in their own writing
Writing is my passion and as well as majoring in English at university, along with Theatre Arts, I've almost 20 years experience in teaching English in primary schools (4-11-year-olds). Over those years I have worked regularly with groups of children specifically on English writing skills.
I have lead learners in identifying author intent and have guided them in producing their own work for different purposes (using the PIE outline)
