Class experience
Students should come to class with a small bowl of snacks (20 snacks total). Options include: Skittles, M&Ms, trail mix, colorful cereal or any combination of snacks that you enjoy! There is a picture showing an example. This will be an interactive class with teacher and students working together to practice data collection: sort, count, graph, compare, tally marks. Students will use a set of data (snacks) to count, sort, graph, and compare numbers and collect data. Students will create a Math poster showing their skills. Skills can be scaffolded to include circle graphs, fractions and percentages. Students will learn: -Graphing/Comparing Numbers -One-to-One Correspondence, tally marks -Number Sense -Sets and Classifying
