Class Experience

In this weekly ongoing class, we explore what it means to be a man and how we can live as good men. A male-led communication class, where we role play/improv different difficult scenarios that happen in life, whether it’s you fighting with your brother over a toy or with your mom over homework or your boss over your salary or someone being a bully at school, role-playing these tough scenarios and learning how to communicate well. Every class will have a pre-arranged topic (see below) and students will be encouraged to explore the next week's discussion ahead of the class and come prepared with questions. A discussion will be held on each topic about what it means to the students and how it is relevant in their daily lives and their futures, following which there will be a question and answer session. Topics will include relationships of all kinds (parents, siblings, partners and business associates and how to balance everyone's needs) finance, business and career choice.

Topics:
Week 1: What it means to be a good man and why this is important
Week 2: Maturity and responsibility for our own actions
Week 3: How to treat people; honesty, kindness and understanding - the power of virtues
Week 4: How to make money from doing what you love
Week 5: Dreaming big and how to recognise and seize opportunities

Being the eldest of five children in an international family means that I have experienced puberty in all its intricacies from both a male and female perspective. I have also coached boys from the ages of 6 upwards in martial arts skills and mentored many children and young adults through this challenging time. I have a ten year old daughter and co-parent an eight year old boy and nine year old girl so have first hand knowledge of guiding children safely towards adulthood.

As a serial entrepreneur who founded three successful companies before the age of 30 my drive to succeed in life began in my teens when I realised the power of positive motivation. I was lucky enough to have a good mentor who guided me through the dark days which happen to us all and helped to make me the positive individual I am today.

I'm Johnathan, a native English speaker living in the UK. I hold a Bachelors degree and have also completed the 120 hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language course (TEFL). I am working full time teaching conversational English to children and adults.
