In this class students will have opportunities to identify, read, and spell CVC and CVCe words. We will play a variety of games to give students the opportunity to practice the short, long, and silent vowel sounds. In the this class I will review the sounds that the vowels make in these words and then the majority of the class will be putting these rules to use. Students will be able to interact as individuals and as a group. A knowledge of short and long vowel sounds is needed for this class; some knowledge of CVC and CVCe rules would be beneficial.

Hello, my name is Parri!
I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. I hope to teach classes in Phonics, Math, Art, and Sea Glass.
I have been teaching for 28 years; I taught for 25. 5 years in a Brick and Mortar school and for 2.5 years online. I have taught Reading, Language, Phonics, Literature, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Canadian Studies, and Science. I LOVE teaching Phonics and Reading. Online I have been teaching children ages 4-14 to speak English. I also do tutoring with these ages and in these subjects both online and in person.
I believe teaching should be fun and at the same time assist students to reach their highest potential. I like to teach using games and activities that encourage learning in a fun way! I want my students to know I care about them and their learning.
One of the first classes I hope to teach is one about Sea Glass; I LOVE the beach. Since I was a child, I have been roaming beaches looking for sea glass; I also love making things with the glass too!
