1:1 Reading Instruction/Tutoring 1 Day Per Week- All Learners/Special Needs

Through one-on-one, individualized tutoring, your learner will improve overall literacy skills through practicing phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension using a multi-sensory approach that is especially impactful for students with special needs, such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, and other neurodiverse condition. This individualized class will be instructed based on the area(s) of need that your child demonstrates. Through a quick assessment, I can determine specific skills to focus on, or you can tell me what you would like your learner to strengthen.

My philosophy is to meet children where they are and work on progression from there. Every child learns differently and at their own pace, so I adapt and modify my instruction to meet individual needs. Focus will be placed on the 5 main building blocks of reading: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension.

I will provide activities to complete or practice between tutoring sessions. Through repeated practice, learners will gain the skills needed to become confident and skilled readers. I use a variety of techniques and approaches, including slide shows, stories, movement, songs, flash cards, whiteboard, and more dependent on your student's age, ability-level, and interests.
