These history tutoring sessions are designed to support 6th–9th grade students in achieving success in their classes. The program covers a wide range of topics, including Geography, U.S. History, World History, and U.S. Government. Each session focuses on addressing students’ individual needs, such as clarifying challenging concepts, enhancing study skills, and providing homework assistance. Students will receive help breaking down larger assignments, reviewing drafts, and reinforcing key ideas. They will develop strong study, reading, and writing habits essential for success in history and other academic pursuits. This personalized support ensures that students gain the skills they need to excel.
Learning Goals
The student will learn to analyze historical events and primary sources, identify cause-and-effect relationships, and evaluate multiple perspectives to form well-reasoned conclusions about the past.
The student will improve their ability to organize notes, create effective study guides, and manage time effectively to prepare for tests, complete assignments, and stay on track with course material.

I am a passionate and experienced educator with 20 years of teaching history in the classroom. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education, a Master’s degree in Education, and a Read to Succeed endorsement through the state of South Carolina. These qualifications reflect my dedication to helping students develop strong literacy and critical thinking skills.
As a lifelong lover of history, I believe in the power of education to inspire and transform. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the idea that every child can achieve success with the right mix of patience, encouragement, and effort. I strive to make history come alive for my students, helping them connect with the past and see its relevance in their own lives.
