In a 1:1 setting with a literacy specialist, we will read and analyze The Wild Robot, a wonderfully popular and entertaining story by Peter Brown. Study the book then enjoy the movie - coming to theaters September 20, 2024!

SCHEDULING This novel study is designed to be completed in eight classes. We can meet 1x/week for 8 weeks or 2x/week for 4 weeks. To ensure effective tutoring, the teacher suggests meeting 2x per week. Book additional recurring meetings after the initial purchase.Students will complete a detailed guided study of an adventure and entertainment filled story, The Wild Robot. Elements of class include vocabulary, making predictions, multiple choice and short answer questions. Learners will also practice sharing their ideas and opinions with the teacher during our live sessions.

Homework Offered
Between classes and in preparation for the next section, your student will be provided with a short homework packet. It consists of 4 pages: vocabulary definitions, vocabulary use, multiple choice questions about what they've read and a chapter summary. It is due by the beginning of the next class. Completing this will help them recall what they've read and be prepared to discuss in class. The next week's homework packet will be available immediately following our current week's class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
A final assessment, consisting of 13 questions, will be given prior to the final class.Grades Offered
A personalized Certificate of Completion will be provided for students who complete all homework packets and contribute to class discussions.
Neurodiverse learners are welcome, with sufficient communication from parents with how to best support your learner.
Your student should be comfortable reading aloud and completing a short, weekly homework assignment.
