We will learn about reptiles and the amazing characteristics that sea turtles use to survive and thrive. We will also learn about the unique adaptations that sea turtles have such as geomagnetic abilities and how this helps them through their life cycle. We will learn about the eggs/nesting phase, hatching, juvenile, and adult phase of a sea turtle's life cycle. In addition, we will learn about some of the challenges that turtles may face. We will touch upon the solutions that can help sea turtles be more successful in reproducing, such as beach clean-ups. We will learn by reading a fun story, playing games, singing songs, and engaging in an activity to represent what we have learned about the sea turtle's life cycle. Teacher expertise and credentials
New York Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hi, I’m Sarah, and I’m passionate about helping children become confident, successful readers.
With over a decade of experience in education, including teaching dual-language kindergarten and running my own tutoring business, I specialize in providing personalized, explicit phonics instruction to emergent and struggling readers.
My journey began when I noticed a lack of accessible and practical curriculums tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners. This inspired me to create my own, blending foundational literacy with engaging, research-based techniques. Since then, I’ve worked with students from Kindergarten through 5th grade, helping them master everything from phonics and fluency to comprehension and vocabulary development.
I believe that every child learns differently, which is why I design individualized lesson plans based on assessments and ongoing progress monitoring. My data-driven approach ensures that every session meets your child where they are and takes them where they need to go.
When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family and my little one and exploring creative ways to make learning fun. Whether your child is just starting out or needs extra support to thrive, I’m here to help them build a strong foundation for lifelong reading success.
Let’s work together to unlock your child’s reading potential!
