Description

Class Experience

Students will learn facts about frogs, toads and their life cycle. We will discuss the vocabulary words: croak, gills, habitat, poison, webbed, nostril tail and tongue.
I am offering this class because I love animals and nature! Every year I would purchase tadpoles for my classroom. My students would help care for and observe the process of a tadpole becoming a frog. I have learned a lot over the years :)!
Homework is optional. Some homework ideas are: 1. Students may draw and label the life cycle of a frog. 2. Students may draw and label the parts of a frog 3. Students may observe frogs in the wild and write about what they see.

I will be sending a few worksheet options for all learners at the end of our class time.
Attached handout (or a plain piece of paper), markers, crayons and/or pencils. It is not necessary for you to purchase any materials for this class. If would like to purchase the books that I will be reading they are as follows. I will be reading the book "Frogs!" by Elizabeth Carney and the book "Tale of a Tadpole" by Karen Wallace. These books are available for purchase on Amazon. "Frogs" is $4.50 and "Tale of a Tadpole" is $7.70.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will assess students orally at the end of the lesson. I will ask them what they learned about frogs, toads and their life cycle. I will also ask them what their favorite thing was that they learned about frogs.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
