Homework is optional. Some homework ideas are: 1. Students may draw and label the life cycle of a frog. 2. Students may draw and label the parts of a frog 3. Students may observe frogs in the wild and write about what they see. I will be sending a few worksheet options for all learners at the end of our class time.Assessment
I will assess students orally at the end of the lesson. I will ask them what they learned about frogs, toads and their life cycle. I will also ask them what their favorite thing was that they learned about frogs.Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
5 minutes- This will be spent building background knowledge and discussing what learners already know about all types of frogs. 20-25 minutes- I will read parts of the stories "Frogs!" and "Tale of a Tadpole". I will share facts from the books and share pictures that I have taken of frogs as well. I will stop frequently to discuss what we've read, point out details from pictures, explain why and how pictures are labeled certain ways, discuss key vocabulary and allow time for learners to share their own thoughts about what we've read. I will also interject my own knowledge about frogs. - Throughout the lesson, students will have the opportunity to draw and/or write what they are learning about. 5-10 minutes- I will wrap up the lesson by asking and answering questions about was learned about all types of frogs. Learners will also have to opportunity to share their drawings/writing. * Follow up activities will be shared with all learners at the end of the class to help enhance their learning and understanding of frogs. *This class will be taught regardless of the number of learners that have signed up. Time may be adjusted for classes with a smaller number of students.
Learning Goals
Students will learn facts about frogs, toads and their life cycle. We will discuss the vocabulary words: croak, gills, habitat, poison, webbed, nostril tail and tongue.

Attached handout (or a plain piece of paper), markers, crayons and/or pencils. It is not necessary for you to purchase any materials for this class. If would like to purchase the books that I will be reading they are as follows. I will be reading the book "Frogs!" by Elizabeth Carney and the book "Tale of a Tadpole" by Karen Wallace. These books are available for purchase on Amazon. "Frogs" is $4.50 and "Tale of a Tadpole" is $7.70.
