My First Piano Adventures lesson book series builds a strong foundation in piano reading and musicality, level by level. Level books are assigned with specific ages and experience in mind. We may also add fun solo books outside of our lesson books. As this is a one-on-one class, each lesson is structured around the individual student’s prior skill. We will work on proper form and movement, treble and bass clef staff sayings, finger numbers, key recognition exercises, and progressively harder combinations of intervals and chords through our lesson books. ($30 per half hour or $40 per 45 minutes) More availability for the 30min class here: https://outschool.com/classes/my-first-piano-adventures-primer-to-level-5-private-lessons-30-mins-iJys5ejE?usid=f3wTX35X&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link This class was created for: 1. New-to-piano students age 9-10 = Primer level. 2. Transfer students age 8+ who are already using "My First Piano Adventures" = Primer to level 5. 3. Students age 7-8 who've already completed "Music for Little Mozarts Level 1-4" or "My First Piano Adventure Book A-C" = Level 1. 4. Older students age 12+ who want to be challenged = "Accelerated Piano Adventures for the Older Beginner" Level 1. If your student is new to piano and somewhere around the late 7-8 range, I suggest using My First Piano Adventure Books B-C first. See "My First Piano Adventure (Level ABC): Private Lessons with Ms. Grace". Each level will include a performance and lesson book, with optional level-graded solo books (Disney, Pop) at the students/parents' request. 2-3 songs are practiced per week until passed off. The average practice needed is 20-45 mins daily.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Brigham Young University
Hi, I'm Ms. Grace. I teach beginner to advanced piano. I'm passionate about level, age-appropriate lesson books and pieces that fit my students' interests!
I started piano at age 5, as many classical pianists do. I studied with Rowan University piano faculty at age 15. While working on my degree at Brigham Young University, I took lessons in Vienna, Austria with faculty at the University of Vienna and the Vienna Konservatorium. In 2014, I graduated with a piano performance degree from BYU under Dr. Richard Anderson. Since then I’ve taught privately, judged in Encore and other regional competitions. I worked at the Utah Piano Academy for two years. I now run a piano studio full of happy, awesome kids. I am an active member of the Music Teachers National Association. I often prepare students for ABRSM, RCM, and local exams and events.
