Is your child reluctant to read? Does your child love reading? Do you want your child to read more? This book club is for all readers. Give your child the gift of developing a lifelong love of reading. Use code LEARNWS73F3 to save $3 today! This is not your ordinary book club. Students have fun reading and discussing the book together in class. They will also work on developing daily reading habits with assigned independent reading. **Students do need a copy of the book we will read each month. In this class, we will read the books listed below. During class, all students will have the opportunity to read aloud and participate in the discussion. The class is designed for solid second-grade readers, advanced first-grade readers, and third-graders needing more assistance. We will work on fluency, phonic skills, using context clues, new vocabulary, and reading comprehension skills. We use many open-ended questions to help students build critical reading skills. Joining a book club offers a range of benefits for a child, both academically and socially. *Builds Reading Skills: Book clubs encourage regular reading, which strengthens comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. *Enhances Critical Thinking: Discussing books helps children think deeper about the story, characters, and themes, promoting critical thinking. *Boosts Confidence in Reading: Regular practice in a supportive group builds confidence, especially as they see peers enjoying the same activities. *Encourages a Love for Reading: When reading is paired with fun, social interactions, children are more likely to enjoy it and see reading as something enjoyable. *Encourages Goal Setting: With regular meetings, book clubs help children set reading goals, instilling a sense of accomplishment as they reach them. Although we choose books we feel are appropriate for all students, we appreciate that everyone has different thoughts and values. Therefore, we encourage you to please visit commonsense media or another outlet to make sure the books are appropriate for your child. If your child is enrolled in the class, that is your acceptance of the book for your student to read. We are kind, encouraging, and patient teachers who LOVE reading and sharing our passion for reading with students of all ages. We are here for your student so please do not hesitate to contact us. You will also hear from us to share what we are seeing in the classroom/ Don't forget to share with your friends. Book Clubs are more fun with friends.
