So many fun, beautiful things happen in morning meeting in a Montessori classroom! In this multi-day class, we will meet as a community, talk about the weather, sing songs, do movement, play games, read books, have lessons and create beautiful pieces of art. We will work on colors, sound recognition, the alphabet, gross and fine motor skills, living and non-living, plant and animal, one to one correspondence, and more! All students are welcome to join in the fun, regardless of their Montessori experience! Week 1: We will work on the sounds /m/, /a/, /s/ , will talk about colors and will go on a scavenger hunt for different colors in your house. We will also work on living vs non-living. Week 2: We work work on the sounds /o/, /t/, /c/, and will have a lesson on a circle, square and triangle. We will also work on plant vs animal. Week 3: We will work on the sounds /e/, /d/, /p/, will play I Spy, learn about patterns and will do a craft with leaves. Week 4: We will work on the sounds /u/, /f/, /j/ as well a discover what sinks and what floats and learn about one to one correspondence. Week 5: We will work on the sounds /g/, /l/, /b/ as well as rhyming and sequencing. Week 6: We will work on the sounds /i/, /n/, /w/, play I Spy, add numbers with objects and make a beautiful piece of yarn art.

Hello learners and grown ups! My name is Sara. I have a husband, a ten-year-old son and two little fluffy dogs. We share a love of Pokemon, nature, fossils, camping and geocaching. I earned a BS in Psychology from Mt. St. Joseph University and after graduation I worked as counselor and as a program director teaching motor skill development. One day I decided something was missing and that I wanted to do more. I went to Montessori school as a child and felt a strong need to pursue it professionally. I enrolled at Xavier University, received my M. Ed. with a focus on Montessori Education and taught children ages 3-9 years in Montessori classrooms. A few years after teaching I had my son and became a stay at home mom before heading back to the classroom. I have taught in Montessori environments for a total of about eight years.
My classes are fun, energetic and full of personal experiences and stories, something that kids absolutely love. They also very much influenced by the Montessori philosophy whenever possible. I believe in a holistic approach to education and that children learn best by doing. I like to laugh, am very expressive and am so excited to share what I love! Reviews
