Class Experience

OUR CLASS
This FLEX class takes place asynchronously, with no live meetings. Each Monday videos, supplies, and assignments will be posted to get you through the week’s material. Every two weeks we will add 10-15 new words to our Latin Vocabulary List.
- Students will take a picture of their assignment to upload to the classroom after completing
- Students will be asked to respond to the discussion questions that will be posted in the classroom

Asynchronous courses are great for students who prefer a flexible schedule!

The story of Minimus takes place in Vindolanda in Roman Britain. Our classes feature original footage from countless Roman Britain archaeological sights such as: Vindolanda, Chichester, London, Cheltenham, Bath, Chester & more. Let me be your tour guide, as we bring the Roman Empire to life with interactive presentations, and personal tours through these beautiful sites.

WHY LEARN LATIN?
⭐️Latin provides the key to the Romance languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, etc.,
⭐️ Latin helps students on the SATs and other high stakes testing
⭐️ 50-60% of English comes from Latin
⭐️ Latin trains your brain to be detail-oriented
⭐️ Knowledge of Latin improves reading comprehension

CULTURE
Students will learn about Roman Culture through the life of a family who lived in Roman Britain. Minimus is a great way to prepare for the National Latin Exam.

GRASP THE GRAMMAR
English is one of the most difficult languages to use to learn grammar. Learning Latin will immensely help young learners to understand the parts of speech such as nouns & adjectives and how to identify them in written works in both Latin and English.

Learning Goals

The goal is for students to develop a love of learning Latin and Roman culture. Will learn approximately 40 words in Latin, develop a better understanding of grammar and parts of speech, and learn Latin roots of English words.
