Math Talks: Enriched Problem Solving (Ages 10-12)

Everyone can learn math!  In this math class, we will use a variety of visuals to spark curiosity and solve a real world math problems.  Learners will be required to gather information, ask questions and create a plan to solve a math problem.  We will estimate, collaborate and persevere to solve critical thinking math problems.  Each class will focus on a different math problem and involve various math concepts such as number sense, measurement, geometry, algebra and data management.  When learners are curious about the math around them, they are motivated to persevere, problem solve and think like a mathematician.  Learners will build a positive math mindset and have some fun while improving their problem solving strategies!
