In this class, students will be given single- and 2-digit numbers in which they will write down and add using the Standard Method. The class will be structured with the teacher engaging the students to participate in sharing their thoughts and ideas on addition and their answers to the addition problems. This class is hands-on, visual, and very interactive. Students will interact with the teacher and other students through discussion, problem solving, and throughout the lesson. The students should have prior experience with adding.

The materials the students will need are paper, color pencils, and pencils with erasers.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Carla, and I am always excited about teaching and cannot wait to teach your learner. My favorite subjects, personally and to teach, are math, reading, writing, and science.
I have taught students through Outschool for the past two and a half years. For over 15 plus years I have been employed in diverse roles within the education sector. I have been a teacher, substitute teacher, instructional support, lead teacher in a childcare facility, volunteer, and tutor. I have my Associates of Science in Office Information Systems, Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and Master of Education Degree (PK-8), and I have also been fortunate to work with students who were high schoolers, special needs, and homebound.
In my class, your student will use their prior knowledge, share ideas, participate through discussion to help develop their academic and social skills. I look forward to getting to know your student and learn how they learn to better support them in their success in school.
