Children learn through using their senses. When they can touch, smell, and see an object related to a given number, retention is more likely. And who doesn’t like Play Doh?? In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to a different number during each class. We will say and count the number before using play doh to shape images such as flowers, caterpillars, and various shapes like triangles and squares to make the appropriate number. This increases their vocabulary, as well as counting knowledge.

It is recommended that an adult assist the learner in making the playdoh objects. Thank you!

Supply List

Multiple colors of PlayDoh, children will be permitted to use the colors they wish for creating their objects. I would suggest around six colors for variety. There will also be a printout for each class.

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Class time, including teaching of given topic and practice of that skill
Closing which may include a puppet, a game, or show and tell, depending on the type of class your learner is taking. My goal is to have every child smiling and excited to return to the next class!
