In this 10 week class we will discuss situational problems and address social language interaction in a 'what would you do format?' geared toward multi step problem solving.
Class experience
Beginner Level
This small group class is geared toward students that would benefit from learning about social interactions and communication techniques to increase peer to peer as well as peer to adult relationships. Topics in this 10-week class will range from following directions, using greetings, turn-taking as well as more complex skills like giving the correct amount of information, and expressing opinions. Students will improve their understanding of communication between themselves and others by promoting introspection and social language skills. Once again, only techniques will be taught in this class for the skills listed above. This class is not therapeutic in nature and feelings and or emotions will NOT be addressed.
I have over 22 years experience working with children in various settings from schools, to clinics as well as in head start programs working on speech and language skills.
Homework Offered
Homework will be given in PowerPoint for the student to review and answer questions pertaining to what was covered that week. We will review homework briefly at the beginning of each class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
