In this 30 minute one-time class, students will explore the concepts of friendship, kindness, and cultural understanding. Through engaging stories, empathy-building activities, and games, we will: -Identify and understand different emotions to foster empathy. -Engage in fun games and crafts that promote kindness and acceptance. -Role play difference scenarios, and practice useful key words and phrases to learn about others. -Make new friends by connecting with classmates and celebrating our differences. My teaching style is upbeat, positive, encouraging, and inclusive. I encourage active participation and foster a supportive environment where every student feels valued. Learners will have plenty of opportunities to interact with me and each other through discussions, activities, and games. My goal is to create a joyful and engaging learning experience that promotes understanding and friendship. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from Northeastern Illinois University
With a degree in Anthropology, I have built, developed, and instructed an educators' Anthropology course at the Field Museum of Natural History, teaching educators how to impart these very topics to young learners. Additionally, I served as a program coordinator and facilitator for community conversations around cultural connections throughout Chicago, bringing together educators, students, and community members.
