Class experience
In this one-time class, students will be taken through the process of learning how to segment and blend CVC words. We will begin by finger stretching, using elkonin boxes for some interactive fun, as well as practice spelling, writing and reading CVC words. I am a high energy teacher who uses music, hands-on learning, and dance breaks to help my students stay focused and engaged. We will always begin with a "get to know you" segment with introductions and an opening question for our students...

The learner will be able to Segment and blend CVC words. We will practice reading and writing these words using different strategies. We will begin by finger stretching and end with writing the sounds we hear and blending to decode the cvc words.
1 file available upon enrollmentAn ELKONIN box printable will be provided. Students will need 3 counters such as pennies, counting bears or anything you can find that can be used to move in and out of the elkonin boxes. Students will need either a white board and expo marker or pencil and paper.
