These three times weekly, half-hour interactive lessons are designed for preschool to early elementary school-aged learners, and are jam-packed with fun! Ms. Colleen, an experienced and certified Early Childhood Educator with a degree in Child Study, uses beautiful storybooks, catchy songs, and fun games to engage, entertain, and teach little learners. Early science, nature study, math, and literacy are topics that will be explored in these lessons. Ms. Colleen's patient, calm and encouraging teaching style helps children to flourish. In this ongoing preschool class, little ones will fall in love with learning! Each lesson will begin with a "Hello" song and children will be encouraged to chat with their classmates and teacher. Gently, Ms. Colleen will guide the lesson at the children's pace. A new topic will be introduced each week, and will be covered through songs, storytelling, and interactive slides. Each lesson concludes with a "Goodbye" song . During our classes, concepts will be reinforced with sensory play and crafts. Students should have playdough, crayons, glue, and a paint set available. Weekly messages will be sent to parents with the topics and materials that will be needed each week. For the Fall term, our monthly themes will be : September: Apples October: Harvest and Leaves November: Animals and their Homes December: Making Music Because Ms. Colleen believes in the importance of Emergent Learning, topics suggested by the learners will be incorporated into these lessons, so themes may change depending of the students' interests. Each Monday, Ms. Colleen will post the themes and materials in the online classroom. Week One: September 6,8,9, 2021 Theme- Apples Learning focus- Counting, one : one correspondence, number recognition Week Two: September 14,15,16, 2021 Theme- Apples Learning Focus- Letter recognition, matching, rhyming words Week Three: September 21, 22, 23, 2021 Theme- Apples Learning Focus- science, creative art, making patterns Week Four: September 28, 29, 30, 2021 Theme- Apples Learning Focus- sorting by attributes, following instructions, fine motor control Week 5: October 2. 3, 4, 2021 Theme- Harvest and Leaves Learning Focus- matching, critical thinking, phonics Week 6: October 9, 10, 11, 2021 Theme- Harvest and Leaves Learning Focus- Nutrition, Counting ,Colour recognition Week 7 Harvest and Leaves This is an ongoing class and will continue until the end of the Fall term on December 30, 2021. Themes may change according to children's interests because Ms. Colleen encourages and values Emergent Learning in her classroom.

Parental Guidance
Please note that parental guidance will be required when children are using tools such as scissors.
Supply List
Concepts will be reinforced with sensory play and crafts. Printable materials will be made available through the online classroom each week, so access to a printer is required. Students should have playdough, crayons, glue, scissors, and a paint set available each class. Please provide guidance for your child when we use scissors, and do not allow the use of playdoh if your child has a sensitivity to wheat or gluten.

I'm an Early Childhood Educator and home educating parent. I have my degree in Child Study from Mount Saint Vincent University and I have been teaching for 28 years. I am also a certified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) instructor. I speak both English and French. In 2020 I discovered my love of teaching online. I guess every cloud really does have a silver lining! My family and I live in beautiful Atlantic Canada. I'm excited to share fun and interactive learning activities with your children!
