Are you looking for a fun environment for your little learner to discover the alphabet. In this ongoing class that meets once a week we will be learning all about the alphabet. We will talk about the sounds that each letter makes. We will discuss the upper and lower case letter as well as learn how to draw them ourselves ( we use rhymes to help us remember how to properly form our letter). We discover items in my magic bag that begin with the letter of the day the sing some fun and silly songs. We will also play one or two interactive games. Teaching using repetition and reinforcment is a very effective way to teach preschoolers. That is why I choose to format my classes in this way. Here is a example of how class will run: Welcome: I use this time to get to know my little learners better by asking question about their week or favourite colours/animals/shows or sports (connecting with the learners is very important to me) ABC song: We will sing a special abc song before the beginning of each class Letter Introduction: We will talk about the letter and the sounds that it makes as well as upper and lower case Let's Write: We will use a teacher provided template to draw the upper and lower case letter of the day Magic Bag: We will discover things inside my magic bag that begin with the letter of the day Songs and Games: We will have fun singing songs and playing games that help us further learn about our letter BONUS: I send home 2-3 worksheet if learners want to continue their learning during the week. These worksheets are completely optional and are to reinforce everything that was taught in class. Making sure that all learners are engaged, participating, learning, and having fun throughout the lesson is very important to me. Your child will have plenty of opportunity to interact in class and be involved in the lesson. There will be a mix of on-screen and off-screen learning. This class has been created to help young learners at the beginning stages of alphabet awareness. It however can also been used as a fun way to help more advanced learners further reinforce what they already know about the alphabet. I hope to see your learner in my class soon!
