In this class, learners will explore a new animal each week while looking at pictures and videos as well as practicing writing the name and drawing a picture of the animal! Hi there and welcome to Let's Talk Animals! First: Check-in time - Teacher-led conversation. Possible music & movement activity. Next: Talk about the animal of the week. Look at pictures and videos of the animal in their natural habitat. Then, with the writing paper provided, learners will practice writing the name of the animal. (Some writing experience is suggested) Lastly, learners will have an outline of the animal on their paper that they may color in. They will be given time to share their drawing and share with the class. If there is additional time in the end, they may share a special toy from their home (The teacher will inform learners if there is extra time). Lastly, a class goodbye! Schedule: Week of November 17th - November 23rd: Praying Mantis When learners come to class, they will be encouraged to talk and share about the animals or about any personal connections they have with the animals. At the beginning of class, we will go over the four main expectations - "listening ears," "proud voices," "eyes on the screen," and "practice raising your hand." Learners will be encouraged to follow all these expectations throughout the class. Learners may be asked to seek help from their grown-ups to solve connection issues during class. Learners will be given a writing document 24 hours before class. Please make sure to have any tools ready. In the event, you're not able to print out the document - a blank piece of paper is fine! See you in class :) - Ms. Christie

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I'm here on Outschool to offer some fun, interactive, and engaging Preschool and Kindergarten classes. Whether it be learning about animals or playing the classic game of Memory we are bound to have a great time in class.
I am from San Diego, California. I earned my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University! I recently earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Hawaii Pacific University.
My goals for each class are for learners to be respected, to feel valued, to learn, to be safe, and to have a lot of fun! I take the time to get to know each learner on an individual basis.
I'm also an Outschool parent. I love the positive impact the teachers have on this platform my daughter has enjoyed her classes very much!
My two daughters, ages 8 and 5, keep me BUSY and we're always going on fun adventures.
My favorite animal is a sea turtle, and I love frozen yogurt and visiting museums. You can find me outside exploring a new place or quietly painting my nails.
Look forward to seeing you in class very soon.
Ms. Christie
