In this class, we will be problem solving to find the best way to create a snowflake! This will be a fun hands-on activity that will encourage creativity and focus skills as we work together to create our very own snowflake designs.
What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Welcome little creators! I am so excited to explore snowflakes with you and problem solve together to find the best to create our very own snowflakes. We will use our sense of sight to explore some amazing intricate patterns of different snowflakes and we will discuss the science behind snowflakes. We will also discuss how no two snowflakes are alike. Then, learners will be challenged to create their very own unique snowflake by using simple materials such as qtips, 1 piece of colored construction paper, glue or tape. In this STEAM activity, your learner will be presented with a problem to solve: How can you create a snowflake? We will collaborate and share our ideas with each other. Then, your learner will have the freedom to create their snowflake however they choose! *If you do not have qtips, your learner can also bring white tissue paper or white paper to cut up and create a snowflake that way. Be creative and use whatever you have around the house!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of snowflakes and will improve their problem solving skills as well as focus skills as they create their very own snowflakes.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! Welcome to my Outschool classroom! I LOVE teaching through pretend play. My classes are for young explorers, ages 3-6, and I offer many different types of classes that are taught through fun and interactive adventures. Your little one will have so much fun exploring ABC's, counting, landscapes, and animals, as we go on our various adventures, all while building foundational math, reading, and speaking skills!
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and I have 8 years of teaching experience. I have experience as a 2nd grade elementary teacher and as an online ESL teacher, to children ages 4 to 12. I also have experience with teaching play-based learning activities to small children, ages 18 months to 5 years old.
I am a mother of three. I have two girls, 13 and 3, and I just recently had my baby boy. I appreciate your support of my classes, as they are what are helping me to be able to stay home with my babies.
I believe that learning should be engaging and fun, all while challenging students to think critically and creatively. I also work hard to build relationships and engage every child that joins my virtual classroom. I really do enjoy teaching online and I work hard to make sure that each student has the best learning experience in my classes. Please reach out if you have any questions. I hope to see your learner in my classroom soon! :)
