Intermediate Level
In this 45 minute Ongoing Makerspace weekly class, students will have a one on one session geared toward their interests and goals. Makerspace uses recyclable materials, craft and art materials from around their house to create inventions, art sculptures and engineered constructions. Some project ideas might include- Designing a rocket that can fly by air power Creating a wearable mask that looks like a cat with paper mache' Sewing a plush stuffed toy with fabric Creating a working shadow puppet theater with paper and foam board Creating a diorama out of paper and a box Designing a car that can roll with wood Inventing a device out of recyclable parts that can track your pet Challenges to create a Rube Goldberg Machine and any other fun build you can think of! Projects can be diverse or specific to one idea. I can offer daily suggestions or the student can take charge over the project ideas. Project scope may be dependent upon student ability and the materials available to them. We can also discuss the use of tools during class and learn to use them safely.
