Learners will be taught a close reading, analytic strategy called Notice and Note. We will specifically cover the fiction signposts for Notice and Note. Learners will work through different signposts that help them comprehend the story and break the text up to their ability. I will be using Pixar shorts and short movie clips through the lesson to assist the understanding of the signposts. 
The beginning of class we will take the first 5-10 minutes talking about random things, this will help me know the student so I can make class relevant to what they know. I will have a short presentation that will be provided to look back upon as they complete their practice work. Learners can ask questions throughout.
Sometimes we can do games to learn and show our understanding of the topic (typically will be the second class of the week) at the end of a class.
