This class will help young learners develop problem solving skills. Many times, young learners will avoid their problems or don't know what to do to solve them. The learners will learn a 5-step action plan to tackle their problems. Worksheets to be used in addition to the class discussion: Steps to Problem Solving: Learners will learn the five step plan to problem solving: They are: 1. Identify the problem, 2. Create five different solutions to the problem, 3. List the pros and cons to each solution, 4. Pick a solution, 5. Test it Out My Problem Plan: Learners will identify a current problem and use the steps listed above to solve their problem. Facing Challenges: Learners will identify challenges they have from a list of common challenges. The list includes challenges like: self control, listening, reading, focusing, sports, etc. After identifying their challenges, they will create solutions. They can use the problem solving steps we learned or identify other ways they can overcome these challenges. This class is a topic of the current ongoing Class, "I am Somebody, Build Your Confidence and Self-Esteem" If any learner who takes this class, repeats it while taking the Ongoing class, they will be refunded for the week of this topic.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree from Webster University
For the last five years I have been a substitute teacher for grades Pre-K through 8th. This role has given me experience in dealing with learner problems in the classroom.; not just behavior problems but also personal problems that may be shared during circle time or sharing time. I have used this method to help the child problem solve.
I am also a former Superintendent of Sunday School at my former church. This required the ability to problem solve when we had children whose needs were not being met in the community.
Finally, as a former Director of HR, who was a member of the Senior Leadership Team, I helped problem solve the problems of employees especially when their personal issues effected their work performance.
I have a holistic approach to problem solving.
