Class Experience

US Grade 1

In this small group 3-week class, students will work on a different, short writing activity each week 
(see schedule of writing activities below).

Classes will involve teacher-led explanation and modeling of how to do each writing activity, brainstorming ideas as a group, teacher guidance as students work on their own writing, and also opportunity for students to share their writing with the group!

The best way for students (aka "emerging writers") to become better writers...is to spend more time writing! 

This class will provide students with various opportunities to practice writing down their ideas and sharing them with others. 

*This class will focus on writing several sentences (a short paragraph).
*This class is a "part 2" to "Let's Get Writing" (same format, just different writing activities :)

Schedule of writing activities:
1. Writing a short story (with a beginning, middle, end)
2. Sensory/descriptive writing
3. Favorite animal writing

✏️ Relationship building is so important to me as a teacher! I love getting to connect with students on Outschool in small group and one-on-one settings, and I enjoy having the chance to help build the confidence & spark the creativity of young learners
