Student will work one-on-one with the teacher in areas of need or areas in which the student could use more of a challenge~ such as letters/letter sounds, cvc words, digraphs, sight words, reading sentences, spelling, and writing.

Prior to working with a student, I will be in communication with the parent to find out the student’s current language arts related skills & abilities as well as any particular areas of need to focus on during our tutoring sessions. I am willing to provide homework help and/or provide individualized instruction for students, depending on what parents would like out of tutoring sessions for their student. I am willing to help with phonics, sight words, reading, comprehension skills, writing, and all topics language arts related! Based off of initial communication, I will develop a plan of learning activities for session #1 ~ and will gather a better idea of the student’s current skills & abilities after working with the student. In sessions #2-3, and potentially more, I will continue to work one-on-one with the student in areas of need, or areas in which the student could use more of a challenge. Structure of sessions will include multiple activities, some of which will build on each other. My goal as a tutor is to provide both an engaging & encouraging session for the student, and to help the student develop confidence as they begin to read and write.
Learning Goals
Students will work on and develop confidence in literacy skills. The teacher will build on a student’s current understandings to help them progress as a reader and writer.

Handouts will be provided by the teacher prior to class, via the classroom page -- if parent would like them to be provided. Otherwise, paper and pencil will work too!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
