In this one-time class, we will learn about the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) through song, instrument play & creative movement. We will learn about what some families do on Rosh Hashanah - blow the shofar, eat apples dipped in honey, enjoy special holiday meals with family. Learners of any background are welcome in this class. Please gather up any instruments you have around the home (bells, shakers, drums, etc). Songs we will sing: Dip the Apple in the Honey, Shape the Challah, I Like to Hear the Shofar Blast This class will be taught from a secular and educational perspective in keeping with Outschool's policies. Learners are welcome to share what their families like to do for the New Year too!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I could tell you about my qualifications, but that alone won't tell you who I am. I have a MMus. in Violin Performance, B.Mus. in Violin Performance, and BA in French. I have been teaching for over 30 years and thankfully still love it!
I currently offer violin, viola, piano, French, and Hebrew classes. My educational philosophy is guided by the main principle of my 25 years as a licensed Kindermusik educator: "Follow the child" - if learners are engaged and having fun, not only will they retain the information but they will want to learn and progress more!
