Intermediate Level
In this class, learners will work on music reading, ensemble skills, new techniques and more, using both familiar and new repertoire. This class is best suited for learners with at least 2 years' experience, who are familiar with music reading in first position. We will be exploring 2nd and 3rd position as well throughout the class duration. Week of September 23 - Introduction, Warmups, Selecting Repertoire Week of September 30 - How to play in an ensemble Week of October 7 - Techniques - double-stops, chromatic scales, harmonics, pizzicato Week of October 14 - Exploring 3rd position If you're not sure if the level is suitable, please reach out to confirm. Minimum level Suzuki book 2 (or very late book 1) would be a good starting point, although more advanced learners are also welcome.

Supply List
All learners MUST have an appropriate size violin & bow, plus rosin and pencil. Shoulder rest is also recommended!
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I could tell you about my qualifications, but that alone won't tell you who I am. I have a MMus. in Violin Performance, B.Mus. in Violin Performance, and BA in French. I have been teaching for over 30 years and thankfully still love it!
I currently offer violin, viola, piano, French, and Hebrew classes. My educational philosophy is guided by the main principle of my 25 years as a licensed Kindermusik educator: "Follow the child" - if learners are engaged and having fun, not only will they retain the information but they will want to learn and progress more!
